About Buster

Adoption Fee: $65
Pit Bull mix
Sex: Male

Looking for a foster or adopter for this boy. ASAP He was found at a truck stop and his owners haven't been found. He was held for 48 hrs as per the mandatory stray hold. The police and local humane society were contacted and no one has been looking for him. He sort of responds to the name Buster, sometimes Paco, or something with an O, but we've been calling him Buster. I cannot keep him comfortably, as he must stay crated; he hasn't been given too much of a chance with the cats, but he drools at them, so he stays muzzled now when out. It would be nice if more efforts went into finding his possible home, if it exists, or finding him a new home. Please reach out to me via email or phone if you are interested in fostering him. You must have no cats or small animals accessible to him during this adjustment period, but he does well with other dogs. If female, they must be fixed, as he is not. Does well with kids, just sounds like he'd be aggressive with his bark. His tail is almost always wagging though, no matter what he sounds like. I'd like to make it a requirement he gets fixed and sees a vet as soon as possible to scope out any possible underlying health concerns. He seems overall healthy, average weight now (64lbs) , though was very skinny and dehydrated when found. He's listening very well overall, knows how to sit, lay-down, play gently, and even (somewhat) settle (still working on that one). Please, this boy deserves his second chance and we cannot provide it. He will have to go to a rescue, if we can find one to take him, quite soon, as my girl dog will soon be coming into heat. I do not want to take him to a shelter because he will be labeled un-adoptable due to the sound of his bark. It's not fair. Please find it somewhere in your heart to help this poor guy. He will come with a crate, food and water bowl, collar, muzzle, and a (not that sturdy, but temporary) leash.
