About Odie

Odie was born on March 17, 2022. We adopted him in August 2022 as a companion for our 11 year old lab who just lost his sister. Odie is a sweet and loving dog, but he is board. We have well over 5 acres for him to roam and run around, and he wants to heard things. He wants to work. We have done everything but take him to a professional trainer, but we know it is not an obedience issue, he just wants to work. He rough houses with our other dog and is constantly nipping at his back legs like a cow dog should. He tries to round up our grand kids when they visit, and while he wants to play with out cats, they don't see it as playing. He won't hurt a flea.... He LOVES to snuggle on the sofa and is a love bug at heart. A little bit of Odie's back story - His mom is owned by a homeless gentleman in our area. A couple saw that Mom was very pregnant and asked the homeless man if they could foster her till the puppies were born, they would then pay to have her spayed, and return her to him when the puppies were weaned. 13 puppies later!!!!! They couple was able to find homes for 8 of the siblings and then on a Tuesday, they surrendered 3 of the remaining 5 pups to our local shelter and I adopted Odie 2 days later, so he was only in a shelter puppy kennel for maybe 48 hours. He has the sweetest disposition and wants to be everyone's friend or buddy. You can tell he just wants to play, loves to chase balls, not the best at bringing them back, but we are working on that.
