About Hank

Hello. I am trying to find a home for my dad's dog. My dad lives in McArthur, CA (near Burney Falls) and he has developed medical issues so he is no longer able to care for the dog. Unfortunately I live in an apartment (in Sacramento, CA) and cannot take him. I can't bare the thought of him going to the shelter. I am willing to help transport him anywhere in California. Hank is a 2 year old intact male Red Heeler. He is approximately 65 lbs. My dad is his second owner and it appears he may not have been treated kindly in the past. Hank can be a bit skittish/fearful when meeting new people but does warm up. He does currently live with a small dog and cats. He has had limited exposure to kids so older kids who understand dog behavior might be best. He would also need an owner familiar with this breed and willing to work with him. He is very loving once he is comfortable. Please reach out to me with any questions. We are only asking for an 'adoption fee' to be able to donate to this site for helping us find Hank a good home (and the sooner the better). Just to clarify, the dog (Hank) is still living with my dad in McArthur, CA. I live in Sacramento and am trying to help find him a home. We will make arrangements for anyone seriously interested to meet Hank.
