About Mavis

Mavis is very loving and family oriented dog! She is very protective of her family. Trust me, you will never have to worry about someone breaking into your home. However, it does take her time to warm up to strangers, we have to keep her in the kitchen with the baby gate up while she gets used to them being there. New people must not pet her until she is ready and comes to them. She is great with our kids, but she's grown up with them. When it comes to new kids she is very nervous and anxious and will get snippy if they invade her space before she's used to them. She needs to be introduced to kids slowly. And no one should put their face in her face or pet her from behind when she can't see you. She does not get along with other female dogs which is why we need to rehome hwr. She keeps attacking our other dog and each time it gets worse. We've tried everything we can to correct this behavior, but my other dog has been injured so bad that we just can't risk this happening again. She isn't a bad dog, by any means. But she needs a home where she is the only animal.
