About Benji

BENJI is a 10 year old, 15 pound Shih Tzu LOCATION: Pensacola FL NEEDS: A loving home �%9D%A4��%8F HIGHLIGHTS: Very chill little man, housebroken too! Benji was surrendered to us because his owner was ill and no longer able to care for him. He is a super sweet, laid back lap dog looking for love! Benji is a pretty happy fellow who is the perfect dog in almost every way. He is content to lie with his person on the sofa watching movies and he likes to play too. His foster mom says he is very entertaining when he goes digging in the toy box for just the right toy to play with. He especially likes playing fetch. Benji gets along great with other small dogs and likes to play with them too. We haven't had him around cats but can't imagine he would have any problem with them. Same goes for kids, although since he's not been tested we would prefer older ones familiar with small dogs. Benji did initially try to mark in his foster home but he seems to be housebroken. He loves going for walks and is great on a leash. At night Benji sleeps in the big bed. When he came in he was a bit matted and we did need to shave him. He can get chilly and likes wearing his little shirts and sweaters, at least until his hair grows back. He is the kind of dog who is going to need to be brushed and groomed regularly to keep that from happening again! Benji has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, neutered, fecal tested, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. He still needs a dental which has been scheduled at one of our events and is covered by the rescue. There is a possibility he will lose some teeth as well as get a good cleaning! Benji is a good boy who is going to make someone very happy! Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. We do not ship or transport our dogs. Applicants should live within a 5 hour drive to Pensacola. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted. *We review multiple applications for each dog and pick the best fit.
