About Woodrow

Adoption Fee: $225
American Bulldog / Great Dane
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Meet Woodrow Woodrow was found abandoned in an apartment more than four years ago. His owner walked away, leaving him behind with no food, water and no way out. Thankfully he was found, fostered and surrendered to us. We have no words for how he was left to die, but fate intervened. We know there is someone out there who will fall madly in love with this boy, like we have. Woodrow is an absolutely amazing gentleman dog. He is as handsome as can be, but his personality really shines. He is just a big, lovable goofball. Woodrow is silly and fun. He loves, loves, loves the water. He loves pools, he loves lakes, he loves hoses, he loves sprinklers. He loves people. He loves his yard time, he loves his walks. This boy is a lover. He gives snuggles and cuddles. He is super gentle and takes treats ever so sweetly. He walks great on a leash. He seems to be house-trained. Woodrow doesn't care for other dogs and chases cats. Woodrow will need to be an only pet and dog parks aren't for him. He will need his own fenced area where he can run and sun safely. He walks well on a leash and is housetrained. We're saddened that he could be so cruelly abandoned but heartened that he is safe and loved by shelter staff and volunteers. However, a shelter is no place to live out your years. Woodrow deserves a loving home where he is safe and protected. A home with soft pillows and peace and quiet. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Woodrow, except that he's been let down by humans and people may be afraid of his breed, but that fear is not necessary. Woodrow is a big ole baby and just wants to love and be loved by someone. Woodrow would do well with an active family, but as he is six plus years now, he will also do well with a less active person or family, where he could be let into the yard or taken for walks. If interested in welcoming a new fur baby companion to your heart and home, Woodrow is a stellar pup.
