About Tuukka

Charming Tuukka is a 90 lb Sheepadoodle (Old English Sheepdog and Standard Poodle) who needs to find his perfect family. Tuukka (named after a Bruins goalkeeper) is 4 years old, neutered, and up to date on his vaccinations. What a sweetheart! Tuukka is good with other dogs and seems to love everyone he meets--but because of his size, he is not recommended in a home with young children. Tuukka is really a very large lovebug who doesn't understand that if he gets on the sofa with you there isn't room for you anymore! He will need to have a large fenced yard and an active attentive home. Exercise and training will make all of the difference with this big boy. The best home for Tuukka will be one where his person enforces training and best behaviors. For instance - he needs to be in a heel position when he walks so he understands you are the boss. Retractable leashes and harnesses are a no-go for Tuukka. Not to say he doesn't get to play! He loves to bound across the backyard and loves to run after toys - but may not always bring them back. Tuukka has done well with other dogs and especially enjoys the company of those dogs who are more submissive. He's very smart and will be a 'star' in any training class.
