About Jean Claude

LOCATION: Austin, Texas DOB: 01/01/2023 Bon jour! I am Jean Claude and I would be happy to meet you! I'd be happy to meet your kids, or your grandkids, or your cousins, or your friends-pretty much anyone! Everyone tells my foster mom that I am the calmest and sweetest puppy they have ever seen and that makes me happy to see when my people are happy. The vet told me during our last visit that I won the calmest pet award for the day! Call me a people pleaser I guess! If I had to describe my personality in words, I suppose I would say that I am more the 'hang out and observe' kind guy, while my sister is the adventurer and wants to do most of the exploring. I do have just a little stubborn streak but it's mostly about new things that I'm not so sure about. The more experiences I have the braver I am becoming. I do like to give a little boof at things I think we need to be protected from (ahem-Amazon trucks.) I am so happy to be in a place where there is yummy food and a soft place to sleep. And I'm lucky because my real sister is in the same foster house as me. We are enjoying our time together because we both know our hearts belong to different future families (but it's been kinda nice to have her nearby for now). The other foster dogs are super fun to hang with, too. Just like people, I can get along with pretty much anything. I haven't met a cat yet but I'm such a chill dude I think I would probably like them just fine. If there was something I had to put on my dislike list, it would be that I'm not really a fan of water. I'll take a bath if needed, but I don't care to dip my toes in the pool or any other water if I can help it. Being on the sidelines is where I'm perfectly comfortable. I'm working on my house training and have come a long way in just a short time. I'm super food motivated, so give me a treat and I will do my best to do whatever it is you are asking . I've already learned some basic manners like Come and Sit, and I even recognize my name. I go in my crate with a treat to sleep at night or when my foster mom needs to leave. But I'm always happy to see her when she returns, especially if there is a bag of food or treats in her hand. My favorite way to be pet is with a chin scratch. I'll hold my face up and let you scratch there all day long!
