About Babs

Adoption Fee: $325
Plott / Beagle
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Babs is a three-year-old, thirty-five pound, Plott Hound and Beagle mix. She is good with all dogs, cats, and mature kids ten and over. We rescued Babs who had been dumped in a rural county and likely was living on the road for a while; she was heavily pregnant. A few days later she gave birth to her large litter at her foster home. Her puppies are now weaned, and Babs is ready for her own home! This gentle, affectionate, and eager to please dog is housebroken, and has learned the command to sit. She is a submissive dog that needs a lot of love. We don't know her history except she cowers, and we suspect abuse. She also was likely kept outside but is developing good house manners. Babs defers to other dogs and is scared of loud sounds, so she needs a peaceful home. She has spent the past two months nursing so we can guess at her non pregnant/non nursing weight is likely about thirty-five pounds. This is a lovely mama dog who deserves a household that will love and protect her. Babs is not yet leashed trained and will require a secure fenced yard. Apply at crisisdogsnc.org. We reply only to completed applications, no calls, no emails. Excellent vet references and a virtual home visit required. Your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We transport by land or air whenever possible. Unless there is definitive documentation our breed assessments are based on visual appearances.
