About Murphy

My name is Murphy and this picture is the typical smile I have on my face. I just turned 8 years old and I still find myself sitting in the shelter. They say I am probably a lab/boxer mix. I may be showing my age a little but don't let that deter you - I still love to play, run around and give tons of love. There may be some gray but please don't tell me I am old - I am a young 8 year old. Unfortunately I am here at the shelter because I decided I wanted to get all of the attention in the home. I am a little pushy when it comes to getting my share of pets - so therefore I want a home where I am the only four legged creature. I am ok with older kids - just not a fan of young ones that want to play rough. I am a gentle soul but still pretty active. A few of my favorite things: peanut butter, ice cubes, car rides, treats of any kind. walks (but I pull still), people and hard toys. Some of the things I am not good at: having my feet touched, cats and other small animals. I'm not fond of the mailman and bark at him a lot. I do get jealous of other animals if they are getting attention. I was originally a victim of Hurricane Harvey in 2017. Unfortunately as a result I do have some ongoing skin issues and I take a daily dose of Apoquel - it keeps things under control. They tell me I have a goofy and funny personality. Help us find Murphy a forever home. This is his second time here at the shelter and we want his next home to be his forever home. His adoption fee is $50.00.
