Ace is nearing 3 years of age. I got him from a family who said that they did not have the time give him the proper attention. My first few days with ace at home he bit a friend of mine. I could not tell if ace was provoked or not in this instance because I was not there and ace was new to me. I've been paying closer attention to him, he's been with me now for close to 8 months and have found that Ace will alert someone to his discomfort by growling and showing his teeth. I would say that 99% of the time before he will lash out with an actual bite he warns before he does. Ace on the other hand is like every other ACD. He wants affection and needs his one person. I have another ACD and there are moments they get along but mostly they like to fight, I suspect but am not 100% sure that ace is a little jealous of the my other dog. The reason I am putting this ad up is that I run a business on my property. If I was not running this business I would have no problem in keeping Ace. As far as I am concerned Ace gives ample warning that he feels uncomfortable and might strike out and from what I've noticed a good number of humans don't pick up on this. I am afraid a customer might not read his signaling and find themselves a victim of his bite. I've spoken with a vet on this matter and from what I hear training might not solve the issue completely and the alternative which I personally find a bit drastic consider the Ace is defending himself, they recommend having him put down as a danger to people. I am interested in finding him some place that understands him and can house him in a way that he won't have as much contact with so many people as he might given the circumstances I have here on my property. Ace is by no means vicious. I have never once felt like he would attack me unprovoked. Like I said he is all ACD and needs his person, he's very smart - he picked up frisbee playing instantly without much guiding, he responds to a small number of commands and generally listens when I ask him to stop a behavior. He's house trained. I do not think he would be good around children considering they might not be able to pick up on his signaling that he's uncomfortable. Please contact me by phone or email. I can make time to speak to you about Ace.
