About Lucky

This is Lucky, a 45-50 pounds Australian Cattledog who is around 6 years old. Lucky is hoping to be lucky again with a new home that is quieter, in a more relaxed and less busy environment. He is loved but finds life with busy streets too scary. Lucky knows his basic commands and also knows to give a paw when asked. He is afraid of the crate, but is house trained and polite, so he doesn't need one. Lucky is nice on leash when he is in quieter areas. He would be a fun dog for hikes and backpacking. Lucky is fine in the car. However, he isn't a fan of the windshield wipers. They make him nervous. Lucky hasn't shown a lot of interest in standard dog toys, but he thinks that socks and water bottles are fun! Lucky is shy when meeting new people but does warm up. He lives with kids at the moment, so would be okay with polite older kids. Lucky also lives with a Dachshund and does well. Lucky was adopted from the shelter and seems to have had some tough times before then. Despite being good with dogs at the shelter and in his own home, he is leash reactive when he sees other dogs and cats while on walks. I'm three instances, when he has reacted at other dogs and his person tries to redirect him with their hands, he has redirected with a scared bite to the person. This is why he needs a neighborhood where he isn't seeing dogs on every walk. His people live in an area that is just too busy for Lucky, which brought on these instances. In all other ways, they say he is such a good boy. He deserves another chance. Lucky loves to convince you to loves to give him scratches. He will back his butt up until you give it. He also loves to burrow in small places.�%A0He is such a good boy who just gets nervous around other dogs and busy places. He would be a total best friend for someone with some property or who is living in a less busy area. Lucky is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. He is located in Long Beach, CA. He is ready to meet adopters who can come here to meet and adopt. We do not ship our dogs. A home visit and vet reference are required.
