About Malcolm

Adoption Fee: $2oo
Doberman Pinscher
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Malcolm was found in the road by Animal Control in early February and was thought to have been hit by a car because he wouldn't get up. He was terrified and shut-down in the shelter and would not walk anywhere with anyone on a leash - never any sign of aggression or fear aggression. He is about 8 years old and has had a rough life. Malcolm is confirmed to have hip dysplasia - rare in Dobermans - but he gets around pretty well and when happy, he does zoomies in the yard. He is on a low dose of carprofen. He likes other dogs and cats and loves women and most people. He never shows any aggression, but he seems afraid of middle aged men. He had minor injuries on his legs that have healed and was neutered at the end of February. He is housebroken and doesn't seem to have any bad habits like digging, chewing, or counter-surfing. It will take patience to get him to walk on a leash without fear, but when he sees another foster dog going for a walk, he is quite interested. Malcolm would really like a mom to share in caring for one another. A $200 adoption fee applies. Please go to http://www.dobermanrescuenm.org and complete an application!
