About Rollo

[Read About Natural Seizure Care] Rollo is a year and a half old Great Dane/Mastiff mix. He is a sweet boy with an amazing temperament and he loves to run and play. He also enjoys rough housing with our other Dane. Unfortunately, just after Rollo's first birthday he began experiencing seizures and was in very bad shape initially. He has been taking twice daily anti-seizure medication since the end of January 2023 and his epilepsy is considered to be well managed. Unfortunately, during his first set of cluster seizures they suspect he may have experienced some neurological damage and he has regressed in some of his behaviors. For example, Rollo was entirely house broke and crate trained prior to the onset of his seizures. He now becomes very anxious if crated for more than a short time and will actually break down the crate by ramming into its sides so he can get out. (We have since been confining him using baby gates while we are gone). He also has trouble holding his bladder and bowels since experiencing seizures and usually requires going out around 4am. 9 times out of 10 I will also have a mess to clean up when I arrive home from work. I know this sounds discouraging, BUT��%BD'��%BD| as long as someone is home to be able to take him out frequently this is not an issue- it is just not a need that I can meet due to my work schedule and often being on call. I have waited a few months to post this in hopes that I could figure something out because I absolutely adore this dog and it breaks my heart that I feel I can't adequately meet his increased needs. Please be aware that his medicine runs anywhere from $80-$100 monthly and he will require frequent blood work.
