LOCATION: Jacksonville, Arkansas DOB: 11/01/2021 Hey Friends and Family, This is your pal, Bobby Joe. I wanted to let you all know that I arrived safely to camp. I love the name of my camp-'Foster Home'. I heard the camp leader (AKA Foster Mom) say those words mean Safety and Love. On the very first day, I won two awards! The first was for Best Dog on a Leash. They said I make great eye contact and follow directions well. Isn't that swell? The second was for Best Frisbee Catcher. I was the only Dane in the group that could run across the yard and catch a flying frisbee out of the air. You would be so proud of me. I'm sort of glad there are no little humans less than 12 years old here. I noticed when I get scared, or think I'm in trouble, or someone tries to come near my food- I can get a little growly. I've come to realize, it's not to be mean. It's more like a bad habit. And I do not exactly have a lot of patience. If someone has a ball or something and I want it, I have a tendency to go grab it. Even if they aren't ready or necessarily want me to have it. Foster Mom says we can work on it while I'm here at camp. I do really enjoy being around the other dogs here, though. There's a cat that hangs out with us, too, and he's cool. I'm kinda indifferent about the other furry campers. It's really the humans that I love to be around. My foster momma says I don't have any prey drive. When my foster siblings are out trying to catch birds and squirrels, I just stare at my mom hoping she will throw the ball out into the yard. It's a good thing I have a lot of energy. We are busy, busy, busy here. I've already learned Sit, Back Up and I'm working on Leave It. I overheard one of the camp counselors say, 'Goodness, that Bobby Joe sure is one smart cookie.' And then the other counselor said, 'Yes, he learns incredibly fast. Very trainable.' I think that was the day I got a Gold Star by my name. Maybe a green check mark? Either way, I know a treat came with it. I noticed wherever I go on the campgrounds or on field trips, I get tons of attention. Everybody seems to love me. It makes me feel so good. Maybe that's why I got nicknamed 'Attention Hound'. It fits me. So that's it for now I guess. Being at Foster Home has been life- changing for me. I'm learning so much about myself and my confidence is growing everyday. I think when I leave here I will be ready to find that forever home and be an amazing pet for some special person or family.
