About Lil Poo/BooBoo

Adoption Fee: $40
Maine Coon / Domestic Cat
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Hi! My name is Lil' Poo (that's what my foster has called all the little kitties she has helped along their way) but I also go by BooBoo (after 'Yogi the Bear's side kick little buddy bear')! You can rename me if you like, I'm just looking for someone who likes to play! My favorite game is the fishing-pole game and I will play that with you all day if I had it my way! I also like paper balls and hairbands and I even have a baseball that I play with. I would be a great soccer goalie, boxer, high jumper or mascot for the LSU Wildcats! I'm about 1 and 1/2yrs old and my foster rescued me from farmland in W. Central Louisiana last May 2022. My foster saw my mom first and then my mom brought me over to my foster because I think she was trying to help me find a home. My Mom is very pretty. She has med-long hair like me but is all-white except for some faint tabby markings on her forehead and has a beautiful long bushy dark-colored flowing tail and big round light green eyes with an intense gaze like me! Then a few days later, I was the only one hanging around and I caught the attention of my foster when I was playing/trying to catch/eat the June bugs flying around the solar lights at the end of the porch. My foster said 'hello' and that I was 'too little to be by myself' so she befriended me. A few days later I jumped in her lap and rolled around and the rest is history! I am now probably full grown and weigh about 8 pounds. I'm all set for a new perm/foster/adopter now. All current on meds/vacs and was spayed last Oct. Over the summer I lost my kitten fur and over the winter I grew a beautiful and very soft fluffy coat (even my neck and feet got fluffy)! I love to keep myself clean and bathe often! I am a 'little Diva' so I'm sorry but I don't like to be pet for very long as you might mess my fur up! Also sorry, but I don't like to be held for more than 5 seconds and am not a lap cat but I will on occasion surprise you with laying in your lap or by your legs when you are napping or sleeping. I am also enjoying being close to you more now laying next to you wherever you are. I also am very curious and will follow you wherever you go (even in the bathroom)! My foster Mom lives in a 30ft tiny house trailer cabin so maybe at your house I won't do this! I can also be 'nurse BooBoo' and comfort and look after you when you aren't feeling good! I am also pretty independent so no worries, I get that we both need some space sometimes too! I'm also curious and playful with water but hopefully I won't have be bathed in it! I'm shy around strangers/new/other people and will hide when they are around, but with my person I am very loving and social. Since my foster Mom brought me home last May I have been an indoor kitty and am pretty content with just sitting in the window watching the birds and squirrels in the yard, but I could possibly be able to go outside at your house also once I have been with you for a while and if you have a safe space and accompany me the first few times to see that I/it will be ok. But remember, I like to play, chase bugs, birds etc... so you may want to keep me indoors, just give me access to some windows/maybe even open windows in spring/fall so I can listen to the birds and smell the fresh air! I don't shed but you need to help me with hairballs. I had them when my foster first got me but she put me on some medicine and now I just have hairball food and treats and am brushed about 1/week and have not had any problems with hair balls since! You can please help me with my grooming by brushing me. I really only will tolerate this when I am eating my Sheba Pate. I use my scratching-post bed a lot but you will need to take me to the Vet every so often to have my nails trimmed. I'm not a huge fan of going to the vet but if you get me out of the carrier for the Vet first I can then be handled by grabbing the top scruff of my neck like mama cats do-it calms me a little. I'm affectionate in my own ways. ...You know how some cats like to rub up against your legs? Well I'm a head-butter and I will give Eskimo-nose-kisses with you. The only other thing about me that you should probably know is that I'm also a love/play-biter. Just don't try to pet me when we're playing and don't pet or pick me up for long periods and we will be just fine. I don't bite in a mean/nasty way and I haven't ever broken skin - it's just more of my affection for you and also my wanting to warn and remind you that I am a little Diva! The Vet told me at our last visit for a nail trim, flea/tick meds and health check on April 28th that I am in good health. While my foster was getting me ready for adoption last June, an entire family of dogs came over for her to help so I got put on hold. I spent the entire 6 weeks hiding in the bedroom-I guess I don't like dogs very much- It would probably be best for me to be with a one person/small family.
