Posted on 5/3/23, and the picture was updated on 7/1/23. Sabel is a great hiking companion. She will stay by her person and come when called if she wanders away some, and she hops right in a vehicle. Sabel, a Catahoula Mix, was out of time at the Smith County Animal Shelter, so we tagged her. She has a very adorable face with her right eye partially blue, is a very sweet and happy dog, but can be a little skittish at first with some new people, and loves attention once she gets to know you, good on a leash, crate trained, likes to play with toys, good with other dogs, good with our outside cat that does not run from her, house training is unknown, heartworm negative, and she does not dig under our 4 foot fencing, but can climb over it to follow me. I can order her from a distance to get back in the fence, and she jumps to climb back in. I tried her in a 5 foot wire fenced area, and she eventually climbed over that. I tried her in a 6 foot chain link area, and she pushed a hole through the chain link at the bottom twice. A tall privacy fence may keep her in, but she will need to be crated when left alone. I can trust her off a leash to follow my command to stay with me, and go in a secure kennel at night. She does tend to jump on me at times, so she may have too much energy for smaller children. She was estimated to have been born around March 2022, and weighed 48 pounds on 2/28/23.
