LOCATION: Collinsville, Oklahoma DOB: 05/03/2016 (Estimate) Athena-the Greek goddess of wisdom. You can see in this girl's eyes the truth in that. Sweet Girl was caught up in a desperate situation where her family was no longer able to provide basic care for her. But her resilience shines through as she is thriving with her foster family and is now ready to find her forever home. Miss Girl is a Velcro Dane and wants to follow her people everywhere and she has that perfect Dane lean we all know and love with this breed. She loves all people and has become quite the cuddler. She even has started wanting to snuggle with her fellow furry siblings. At meal time, she can be a little aggressive with her food (not surprising) but is making great strides at learning to be comfortable and confident that her meal is her meal alone and she is relaxing more when eating around her pup friends. When she is confused or pondering the great Questions of Life, she will cock her head to the left and her left ear goes straight up on top of her head. It's hard to not fall immediately in love with her! And yes, she is a bit older and she might be peppered with some snow on her snout but she has the energy of a puppy. Miss Athena is very active and wants to play!! She plays great with all of her doggie siblings. She is learning tug of war but Sweet Girl will almost always be the first to let go. And just for kicks and to show off some special talent, she will lay on the carpet in a twisty knot and then glide across the carpet keeping her body all twisted up. Her foster momma says it is an adorable sight to see. She is good to be with children. She has not been around cats. And she is housetrained. Hop her into the backseat of a car and she is ready to travel or run errands with you. Leash skills aren't quite up to par yet but her foster family is working daily with her as she finds pulling her human to be just as fun as walking next to them. Sharing your time and space with Athena would be a beautiful thing.
