Jesse is a handsome, sweet and extremely loyal dog, with boundless energy to boot. We first met Jesse when he started coming around our property as a wandering stray. He would get food and water from us and go back to exploring. He would show his belly to everyone living or working on the property for rubs. Once, he brought a teddy bear as a present for our other foster, Mae! Unfortunately, on Valentine's Day of this year, we came home from our dinner to find him in our driveway, all bloodied from a fight. We immediately took Jesse in as a foster. Although he had a collar, he had no chip. At this time Jesse received his vaccinations, heartworm medication, and surgery on his ear, which he has since recovered from. While Jesse may have been someone else's dog, we're not sure if he's house trained. He is also currently unneutered, but we can take care of that, if necessary, for him to find his forever home. For now, he is a bit nervous around other male dogs (and may not get along) and depending on the person he may need some time to get to know you. But once he trusts you, he's in your corner for good. Ever since we rescued him, he trusts us absolutely. And he loves the staff at his regular vet. We have done our best to be a caring halfway house for this great dog. But with work, personal life and home renovations in the way, Jesse needs more, and will surely need a forever family. We hope someone out there falls in love with him.
