Mae is a rescue that I saved from the street in late October of 2022. She was wandering off an exit road in the rain, seemingly scared, alone, and pregnant and hopped into my car with ease. After taking her to the vet and then estimating her to be about 3 years old, discovering no microchip and signs of recent pregnancy, I took her home under the pretense of finding her a forever home with someone who can give her their undivided attention. It has been a year since then.. Since I live in Houston, there are always stray animals around and I couldn't bring myself to drop her at a shelter where she would most likely be put down. Mae is one of the most sweetest, cuddliest, and protective dog I've ever encountered. She loves to shake your hand, get belly rubs, and to lay on you like she's a 20lb dog despite her being 75lbs! One thing to note is that Mae has canine herpesvirus that she contracted from a neglectful boarding facility. While I hold Mae dear to my heart, I can no longer afford to care for her or give her the attention she truly deserves so by doing this I hope that someone will see her potential and want to allow her to live her best life.
