About Cooper

Hello future family! My name is Cooper and while my vet records say I'm 2 years old, I've got an old soul. It's not because I was just fixed that I communicate in some groans and long stares ~ it's my normal MO. The only times my foster parents have seen me get loud is when I'm barking at other dogs, following my foster brother or helping protect my yard. When new people come over, I've loved meeting them and I'm quick to get lots of pets and cuddles. They all say I'm the SOFTEST dog ever! I could use some more practice on my leash because I sometimes pull, but I'm already getting better since I arrived in my foster home. When we meet other dogs on our walks, I get very protective of my pack so I'm going to need someone who has experience and can help me learn not to lunge, bark, and start a tussle. There are two other dogs where I'm staying and I've been good with them, especially the male around my age. We love playing with toys, chasing each other in the yard, and having a fun wrestle. Playing fetch is my favourite and my humans say I'm VERY good at it. I equally love chilling and cuddling on the couch. Sometimes I get treats when I sit or shake a paw. I'm trying to learn some other tricks but it's taking me a bit. I do know 'leave it' and 'off', which I've heard a few times while attempting counter surfing (I'm learning it's a no-no). I'm very good at going in and out of the car and sitting nicely and quietly while they drive. If you are an experienced dog owner ready to love and work with a good, sweet but slightly stubborn boy, I could be the soft, loyal, and loveable Golden for you. Cooper is currently being fostered in the Edmonton, AB area.
