About Molly

Courtesy post for foster mom Gina: Hi everyone, if you, or anyone you know, is looking to adopt a dog, I'm fostering a very sweet, affectionate 3 year old girl through Lucky's Legacy rescue. Her owner passed away and she ended up in the shelter. Molly appears to be a Lab/Shepherd/Sighthound mix and at 37lbs, she's the perfect medium size. Molly is spayed, up to date on shots, and microchipped. She is crate trained, but is trustworthy uncrated, as long as reasonable precautions are taken. She still has a lot of puppy-like qualities: she can get quite exuberant and playful (though my husband reports that she sleeps the whole time I'm at work). Like a puppy, many things are new to her and she's either excited by them, or scared of them. She loves people and seeks attention from them, and even though she can initially be a bit hesitant with strangers, she warms up very quickly. She has been around children, and would likely do fine living with older children. She gets overly excited meeting other dogs, but may do well living with another equally playful dog. Her ideal home would not have a cat (my guess is that she would chase them), have a fenced-in yard, and owners who love dog kisses (she's a licker!), and who are not gone for long hours (she does not have separation anxiety, but she was crated for long hours in her previous home, and I want better for her). Molly is puppy pad trained to go in one specific spot, and is almost fully trained to do her business exclusively outside. With continued gradual exposure to the world and positive reinforcement training, this girl will make a wonderful family pet.
