This animal is available to licensed rescue groups only. Please do not enquire unless with a licensed rescue group. Neo is a 2.5 year old bully breed mix, about 70 pounds. When neo came to us from the shelter, he was emaciated and had pressure sores all over his body. He was neglected and abused. Because of that, he has real trust issues surrounding new people. We have worked hard with him to put weight back on him and get him physically healthy, but his emotional scars still linger. Here's the positives: he is good with cats. He is very food motivated and takes treats very gently. He knows how to sit and has been working on laying down on command. He is crate trained and house trained. He has no issues resource guarding with food or treats and will give them up to people. Once he trusts you, he is content to chew on his bone and occasionally cuddle. He is also muzzle trained. He can be with other dogs but he plays rough and is a vocal player. He has never bitten anyone. The longer he is out of his cage, the better and more relaxed he is. The negatives: he is scared of anyone new and has serious trust issues. He will lunge and bark and I'm sure if he wasn't muzzle trained, He is not aggressive but fearful. He will always try to hide first but if he feels trapped, he lashes out. He has been in foster for almost a year and a half and has come a long way. We know he is such a great dog and he has been wonderful with his fosters but is scared of anything new. He has some bad puppy manners when he isn't leashed so he jumps. He doesn't play with toys and doesn't really seem to understand them. Neo's fosters believe in him and believe he is a good dog with some pretty bad trauma. The good definitely outweighs the bad but he doesn't present well. He seems to do better with one person as opposed to two, doesn't necessarily prefer men over women (or vice versa). He loves to be right up on top of you, on your lap, cuddling and watching movies. He gives kisses and nuzzles. He needs someone experienced with bully breeds. Someone who is willing to work with him to train and build trust. And someone who knows he is a work in progress.
