About Eve

Adoption Fee: $50
Mastiff / Pit Bull
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

This is Eve. She was found in our neighborhood around Christmas this last year, and we took her in. At the time, she was a good fit, but our circumstances have changed and we are unable to be her forever home. Here is what we have learned about Eve. 1. She loves her people. She has had lots of contact with adults and lots and lots of kids, from 6 months to pre-teens. She never steps on them or tries to boss them around. She also doesn't really lick, she just gets really close and sniffs. She has never once growled at a kid or seemed irritated. She will sometimes bark at an adult coming in the home, but she is fine once she gets a good sniff. She has also never made a move to nip or bite an adult. 2. She learns people's names very quickly. I have an adult son Austin - it I ask where Austin is, she begins to do a very happy dance. Same with 'dad', and a variety of grandkid names. She is a fast verbal learner. 3. She loves to dance. She looks so awkward with her long legs and she generally begins spinning in circles. She does not jump on people, thank goodness because of her size. 4. She is a big eater - and right at 100 pounds. She was 82 pounds when we found her. 5. She thoroughly loves to go for rides in the truck. She is a great rider, no whining and seems she could go for hours. 6. She doesn't seem to need a lot of exercise. When I walk her she does need to use a gentle leader. It's in her DNA to pull, but with the leader on her nose... no problems. 7. She is not big into toys. She absolutely does not see the reason to 'fetch' anything. 8. She is very comfortable in her home. She is great at going in a crate and OK at her dog bed, but she will try to get you to let her on a corner of a couch. 9. She has never tried to snag food off our plates, even when left within her reach. When we offer her food from our hands, she is super gentle. The grandkids give her many treats. She has figured out that it is a good idea to lay at the base of a highchair. I would say she is not very 'treat' motivated, but she responds well to butt scratches and praise. Eve is around 3.5 to 4 years old. She is healthy and spayed. I wish we could keep her, but life had different plans.
