About Nova

**Please note that this little girl is in Bakersfield. If you are coming from Northern California that will be the most convenient area. If you are in Southern California arrangements will be made to meet in the Los Angeles area. All prospective adopters must meet via zoom call first so we can meet, you can see the puppy in action and then we go from there.** Meet Nova!! This little nugget is an absolute gem! With these incredible big eyes, and button nose Nova is the girl who loves to wag her tail and gives lots of kisses! She is 8 weeks old and a combination of Maltese, Poodle and Terrier with a soft, non shedding coat with the perfect markings! This girl actually came from a great home with her sister (who is listed for adoption as well). The previous owner has the Mom who is a Terrier mix and her daughter and son in law that recently moved in with hetr has the cutest Maltipoo (also mixed with a little Terrier) were careless when the Mom dog was in heat and an accidental litter resulted. Unfortunately the woman who has the Mom is in her 70's and is against spaying her dog but the daughter has had the Dad neutered so no more puppies for him! She was trying to find homes for the litter of 5 and had homes for all but the two that we brought into rescue. They are super friendly, happy and healthy. In their private foster home they are with German Shepherds, other small dogs and cats and just fit right in. They are loving, playful and when in an enclosed area will always choose a wee wee pad. Nova currently weights about 3 pounds and having seen the parents she will most likely be between 10 and 12 pounds fully grown. Her adoption fee includes: 1. Her first set of vaccines 2. Her first deworming 3. Spay (when she is 6 months of age per the terms of our contract) 4. Microchip 5. Starter food including colostrum supplement 6. Harness and leash An adoption fee does apply, As we prescreen via email ONLY (we do NOT make or receive phone calls in the pre-screening phase) please tell us a bit about you such as: 1. If you do not currently have a pet how you will keep Nova socialized with other dogs Some notes to consider before applying for Nova: 1.. Nova is approximately an 8 week old puppy Please make sure that everyone is on board and ready for the responsibility of a puppy. She is not yet housebroken but does great in a small area with wee wee pads and sleeps through the night. 2. Please make sure you are ready to adopt before coming to see our adoptable dogs. We are a foster based rescue and do not have the space to hold dogs for a couple of weeks while you vacation or make your way to California to come and adopt. We will adopt out of state but ONLY if the potential adopter comes here to adopt in person and that is after a screening by Skype/Zoom. WE DO NOT SHIP DOGS EVER. 3. We are often inundated with emails about our adoptable dogs and try as we might to make everyone happy it is nearly impossible with only one dog and sometimes up to 50 potential families. The more information you provide in your email to us the quicker we will get back to you. If you have written to us before about a particular dog and did not receive a response please do try again. We try to answer every email but it is not always possible. Every dog has different home requirements that we search for so sometimes you are the right fit for the dog we are trying to place. 4. PLEASE do NOT send more than one email. It slows down the process. 5. We do not make appointments for people to just come 'see' the dogs available.
