About Roger

Adoption Fee: $350
Dachshund mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

4/22/23 Roger is a doxy mix about 3 years old. He came from a horrible hording case and is timid with people. He's not had a lot of human socializing so his new home will need to be patient with him. He's good with other dogs and another dog his size and well balanced would be great to help him build some confidence and understand what it's like to be loved and have a forever home. A fully fenced yard would be best as he's not had much training but a safe area for him to run around and play would be great. We would think a home with older children or no children would be best as a busy, noisy home may not be too comfortable for him at this time. He is coming out of his shell at the rescue but he would greatly benefit and blossom in a foster or forever home. **Note from volunteer** I met Roger and while he was curious about me he kept his distance. By the end of my first day with him I was able to crouch to his level and he let me rub his ear. The second day Rogers continued to be curious of me and followed me around and by the end of the day I could crouch down and rub is head, behind his ears and his body but when my second hand came up to love him he skittered away. By the end of my third day I could find Roger peeking at me through the doors and following me around the yard. He again would let me me love on him as long as I was down and on his level. I have several more days with Roger and am excidted to see where he will be with me. I have extreme confidence that his new home will LOVE this quite, inquisitive and shy boy and once you become friends he will be the most loyal companion. **This dog is currently at the rescue in TX however you can secure this pup for yourself with a pre-adoption which means getting your app in, approved and then paying the adoption fee. The adoption fee is $350 which covers spay/neuter, vaccinations, HW testing, chipping, health certificate and transport fees. All our dogs come with a 30 day, money back, trial period to make sure they are the right fit in your environment but if it doesn't work you will have to foster until the dog gets rehomed. Tall Tails Rescue has a commitment to these dogs for their lifetime and we hope you do too!
