About Leonard 'Leo'

Leo initially was a rescue at a young age. He lived with my daughter and her husband for about 3 years in North Carolina. The husband passed unexpectedly, so my daughter moved back to Florida with two dogs (a smaller male dog that was Leo's companion for many years until he was adopted). I am a full time pet sitter (in other people's homes) and am therefore, home very little to give Leo the attention and exercise he needs. My daughter works in another city, leaving home early and arriving back home early evening. Leo is a warm, loving, sweet, obedient, friendly and sensitive dog. He loves people and kids; however, he doesn't get along with most dogs. He stays in a lanai all day with nothing to do, no human contact, except the lawn people that he barks at ferociously, unless I'm at the house to tell him, 'No bark!'. He understands simple commands such as sit, down, speak, paw, gentle. Leo weighs about 70 pounds and is very strong. He likes to chase lizards and if he were off his leash, probably squirrels and birds as well. Outside, pets are not allowed without a leash, so Leo never gets to run free. He loves attention and would be a lap dog if you would let him. Leo deserves to have a life where he can get the attention and exercise he loves and needs. If interested, I'd like to first request that he stay with you on a trial basis for a week to make sure he acclimates to his new environment and there are no issues. We want the best for Leo and want nothing bad to happen to him, so we're happy to take him back, if the week stay over doesn't work out.
