About Merick

Meet Merick of Yorba Linda, CA - one of many dogs we will be posting in the coming days who's family finds themselves in need of rehoming. Merick is 8 yrs young, loves everyone he meets but has only really socialized with the dog he grew up with so new dogs are, understandably, a challenge. He also has only had one home his entire life (with the exception of his foster home when he was a very young puppy) so he will need someone to help him land softly and put the pieces of his life back together. Patience, an immense amount of empathy and a strong desire to help this pup thrive is what he needs. What he doesn't need is a home with unrealistic expectations, who wants a dog who is 'plug and play' and will fit seamlessly into their lives and home from day one. He doesn't need training. He is GREAT at being a dog. What he could use, once he lands and feels good about life again, is some good, healthy, appropriate socialization with the right dog(s). If that is not available, he can live a perfectly happy life being an only dog and being managed around other dogs. He is not asking us to 'fix' him. He just wants to be safe and loved.
