About Maui

MAUI is a 6 month old, 22.4 pound male Dachshund Lab mix LOCATION: Pensacola FL NEEDS: Active owner, lots of playtime HIGHLIGHTS: Perfectly playful puppy! Maui is an adorable pup who originally came to us after he and his littermates were found huddled together for warmth on the side of a highway. He was adopted but returned due to an illness in the family. Maui is alllll puppy! He is super sweet and loving and thinks he's a lap dog. He loves to give kisses and get lots of attention. He loves his person and wants to sleep right by you at night. Maui has a ton of energy and loves to run and play and romp and bounce. Like most puppies he is very curious and into everything! He needs an active family, would love some kids, and another playful dog about his size. Maui does play a little rough for a smaller boned dog, he's pretty solid! But he loves other dogs and would be happiest with another dog. He is a little intimidated by bigger dogs. Maui is good with kids, and hasn't been around cats. He walks on a leash but needs some work, he's still a puppy! For your happiness and his, a fenced yard would be great! He is an excited barker and won't be a good fit for an apartment. He uses a doggy door and is doing well on house breaking and loves car rides. Maui loves, loves, loves toys and thinks chasing a ball is great fun. He's not good at bringing it back though! Maui is a good little dog who will be perfect for a family or person looking for a buddy to have adventures with! He has been to the vet for a wellness check, is current on shots, neutered, fecal tested, heartworm negative and has been started on heartworm prevention. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted. *To meet a dog or be considered for adoption you must first submit an adoption application for review. This does not obligate you to adopt a dog. *We review multiple applications for each dog and pick the best fit. We are not always able to respond to every application.
