About Lionel

Lionel is a male Queensland heeler puppy, about a year old, 30 lbs, and potty trained. He's smart and wants to learn. Lionel is timid with new people but is eager to meet new folks in a safe, slow manner. Lionel's new home should be patient home that doesn't mind continuing to help him enjoy the world. He is making great progress already. Lionel loves to run and play, currently with his much larger foster dog friends and cat, and would do great in a home with dogs, cats, and maybe an older and polite kid. It took him time to find his voice, and still barks only when really excited; his foster family recently heard his first howl! For a patient and quiet home, Lionel will be fun, active, and loyal. .Lionel was found as a stray and has some tell-tale habits of that period of his puppihood. He is a little skittish in new and busy environments. Lionel stays close to his humans and watches for direction. He will eat pretty much anything he can swallow, so toys must be selected carefully. Lionel is crate and leash trained, and loves to go for walks and hikes. Belly rubs and ear scratches are his favorite. Lionel is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. Adopters must be able to meet and adopt here. We do not ship our dogs. A home visit and vet reference are required.
