About Duke

Newfoundland
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

My husband adopted 2 Newfoundland Landseer puppies last spring from a farm in Sugar Creek Ohio. Duke is a good, loving dog except when it comes to trash. If he gets into trash/ human food he will growl and snap at me or my kids when trying to get it away from him, but doesn't with my husband. I can pull a toy out of his mouth, I can stick my hand in his dog food bowl, just cannot go near him if trash or human food is involved. He is in a home with other male dogs and a cat. Chases the cat but has never hurt her. He is not fixed, he was born 2-6-22 so will not be able to be fixed until probably this winter (x ray and blood tests would need done first). He is about 140 lbs and still growing, black and white, more broad than an average Landseer. He is very vocal and needs almost constant attention, though he is good with a crate and housebroken. Very loving, loves tug of war and fetch. We do not want a rehoming fee, however very selective on his possible new home. A contract would need signed that he would not be studded and would be fixed as soon as it was healthy for him. You would need to have experience with large breeds as well as vet reference
