About Dash

Meet Dash!! This boy is not only stunningly good looking is a smart and loving as well! Dash is a nearly 4 month old German Shepherd puppy who weighs about 25 pounds currently and is expected to be about 70-80 pounds full grown. He has a gorgeous thick coat that is soft and luxurious. We are very happy that we were able to intervene on Dash's behalf so he did not wind up becoming some kind of left out in the yard dog. He has already been through a lot in his short life! A gentleman worked with a man whose German Shepherds wound up having a litter and was giving the puppies away. Someone else at the same company took Dash, decided that a puppy was too much work and said he was going to take him to the pound when the last man stepped in and said he would take him. That lasted 4 days before he decided he did not want to have a puppy and was giving him away to the first person who showed up! Which is where we stepped in! He is now in a private foster home where everyone loves him! He is with 3 German Shepherds, small dogs and cats. He is great with kids. His best friend is a 6 month old Boston Terrier mix named Princess Sparkles who he plays and snuggles with. He learned housebreaking almost instantly and is very very bright. Dash would make the perfect family dog! He will not be adopted to anyone in an apartment because a full grown German Shepherd needs exercise and stimulation. Larger breed dog experience is strongly preferred. His adoption fee includes: 1. Current vaccines 2. Rabies vaccine 3. Deworming 4. Microchip 5. Neuter (when he is old enough per the terms of our adoption agreement) 6. Starter food 7. Collar and leash His adoption fee is $400. As we prescreen via email ONLY (we do NOT make or receive phone calls in the pre-screening phase) please tell us a bit about you such as: 1. Your lifestyle, activity level and work schedule. 2. Area you live in and if it is a house or apartment. (Please indicate city) 3. How many adults, children and pets in the household. 4. Where your pet stays when you are out or at work. 5. If you do not currently have a pet how you will keep Dash socialized with other dogs Some notes to consider before applying for Dash: 1. Dash is a 4 month old puppy Please make sure that everyone is on board and ready for the responsibility of a young dog such as housebreaking. He will need continued training to make sure he becomes the best canine citizen possible. 2. Please make sure you are ready to adopt before coming to see our adoptable dogs. We are a foster based rescue and do not have the space to hold dogs for a couple of weeks while you vacation or make your way to California to come and adopt. We will adopt out of state but ONLY if the potential adopter comes here to adopt in person and that is after a screening by Skype. WE DO NOT SHIP DOGS EVER. 3. We are often inundated with emails about our adoptable dogs and try as we might to make everyone happy it is nearly impossible with only one dog and sometimes up to 50 potential families. The more information you provide in your email to us the quicker we will get back to you. If you have written to us before about a particular dog and did not receive a response please do try again. We try to answer every email but it is not always possible. Every dog has different home requirements that we search for so sometimes you are the right fit for the dog we are trying to place. 4. PLEASE do NOT send more than one email. It slows down the process. 5. We do not make appointments for people to just come 'see' the dogs available.
