Please note that we will ask for a vet reference. Name: Dozer Age: 3-4 years old Breed: Pit Bull Terrier mix, 80#, large Sex: Male, not neutered Location: Franklin County, Ohio Vet Information: Dozer is not current on vaccinations and is not neutered. He is completely blind. Owner Information: Dozer was found in a field as a stray by his owners. After moving and family changes, no one has the ability to care for Dozer, but her current owner really wants to find a good place for him and for him to have a happy life. She really cares about him and says he is a very healthy and strong dog and a very good boy. His owner walks him and plays with him but doesn't have the time to train him. She believes that, with the proper person, Dozer can do really well. Dozer is an indoor dog who is crated. Dozer is not housebroken, but he is leash trained. Although Dozer hasn't had formal training, he knows cues for Sit and Potty. He takes treats gently from hands with a soft mouth. Dozer's owners describe him as an outgoing boy! He is full of life and very independent. Dozer loves playing with other dogs and snacking. While he can be nervous at times, Dozer is good with women and female dogs. He needs a home without cats and children, although he currently lives with three cats and another dog. Previously, Dozer snapped when another animal growled at him. He also doesn't like it when things are taken from him. Dozer doesn't like baths or riding in the car. Although he is very sweet the majority of the time, his owner believes he experiences fear aggression. Dozer does well as long as he's not being touched while he's stressed. One of Dozer's former owners reported that Dozer bit him and punctured his skin. This would be considered a Level 3 on the Dunbar Bite Scale: One to four punctures from a single bite with no puncture deeper than half the length of the dog's canine teeth. Maybe lacerations in a single direction, caused by the victim pulling a hand away, the owner pulling the dog away, or gravity (little dog jumps, bites and drops to floor). For additional information, please see: https://apdt.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/ian-dunbar-dog-bite-scale.pdf Dozer's owner would like you to know: 'I found him, and I tried to find somewhere more suitable for him. I don't know how to care for him correctly and build that trust with him. He is very sweet and just needs the right home. He is independent in the sense that he's not big on too much affection but loves chest and back scratches (he will let you know). He loves to follow you around and lay at your feet.' Does anyone have room for sweet Dozer?
