Gus is a beautiful Great Pyrenees/Maremma dog who enjoys living outdoors and is a wonderful guard dog. He is very smart, very sweet and playful - he knows sit, stay, house, come, and shake. Unfortunately we have found our property to be too small for him and our street is way too busy which seems to be causing him some anxiety. We took him in from a woman who kept him primarily in a large kennel and did not socialize him at all. He has been showing aggression towards anyone who comes near or enters our property even if we tell him it's ok. He also does not tolerate anyone around when he gets his food except his primary person - He did bite a family member who was standing behind him while he was eating. We feel that he might do well on a large property or farm with an individual who has the knowledge and ability to work with him. He should not be around children. We need to find a new home for him within the next few weeks or we will have to surrender him to our local shelter. We love him dearly and he has been nothing but loving and loyal to his primary person, he's just having a really hard time with multiple people.
