About Moose

LOCATION: Stockdale, Texas DOB: 10/01/2022 Moose (Mussolini, Mustafa, Moose head) Personality: Very attentive to humans wishes, quick learner, trains easily for treats, blends in with pack easily, quiet and alert. Disposition: Very energetic, needs exercise 3 times a day. Friendly, playful, bonds easily with men and women. No guarding issues and is patient to wait for his food bowl after other dogs get theirs. Not a heavy cuddler but wants to learn. (I sometimes find him curled up beside me when I wake up in the morning). He likes to be close to me and will sometimes come sit in front of me so I can pet him - but is also his way of telling me he needs something (potty, treat, go outside). Ideal Home: Moose can adapt to any home with or without pets. He loves to run so probably a larger yard or farm environment. At first he chased the cats but now just sniffs them and watches them. He goes with me to check on the chickens and he chased them at first but not anymore. He has no attack mode - it's just curiosity from being young. This boy is best with a pack that includes him in their activities (going for walks, car rides, playtime). He wants to be part of your day. Training: He has gotten better on a leash but we no longer leash him as he clings to his owners and does not run away. He is housebroken, crate trained, and was quiet when left alone at first but now voices his desire to go with us. He is young and likes to play so we crate him when we leave right now but feel he can stay out with the other dogs with a little training - he likes to get the others going into playtime in the house when we're gone-we're just not sure how much this scenario would escalate. A letter from the big guy himself:: Hi, I'm Moose and I love playtime and tug of war with my foster parents and their dogs. Our play sounds rough from all the growling, but it's just play-there is no aggression. I love to race my new friends to see who is fastest in our games of tag. We chase the ball and frisbee, but just a rope to pull on is good enough. I really like our daily rides in the van so I can smell the fresh air and see what's out there in this world. I'm growing quick, learning so many new things, and am thriving on the proper food diet. I'm curious about cats and chickens but never attack them. I get to sleep where I choose; in a crate, on a couch, pet bed, but sometimes sneak into my foster's bed at night to cuddle. I'm very alert to noises outside and would make a good watch dog. I like all people and my tail seems to wag all of the time.
