About Savannah

Well hello there, my name is Savannah! I am a beautiful Golden Retriever mix who is looking for my very own forever home. I am 3-4 years old and am very gentle and kind to everyone I meet. I am a super friendly lady and enjoy meeting new people. I'm really the sweetest and most affectionate girl you will ever meet! Showering my people with kisses and snuggles is a favorite pastime of mine. Seriously, I could give kisses for hours! I just adore being close to my people and laying my head on them while they give me a big hug. Even though I weigh about 55 lbs, I do think I would be a wonderful lap dog. Although some dogs enjoy a crate, I don't particularly like it and at night I would love to be able to sleep with or next to my people. I mean after all, who doesn't want extra cuddles at night? My rescue told me that I tested positive for Heartworm but they have already started my treatment so I am on my way to being better. I love playing with other dogs but right now, due to my Heartworm treatment, I have to keep calm and quiet. The good news is once I am finished I can run around the yard and romp around with other doggies- which I am very excited for! I am great on the leash so when I can be fully active again I can join you on walks and even hikes. I also enjoy car rides so I can come with you on all the fun adventures you take. I have missed out on years of love so I would really like to have a home where I can be given lots of love and attention. I truly just want to be adored and appreciated for the great girl I am. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources.
