About Barney

BARNEY is a 2 year old, 13.3 terrier mix LOCATION: Pensacola FL NEEDS: Lots of love and attention, fenced yard, another dog. HIGHLIGHTS: Very affectionate! Barney is a super sweet little dog who was surrendered to us along with several other dogs. Even though he can be shy, he is affectionate and loves attention. Barney especially loves to lie in his foster mom's lap and give kisses. He truly loves his person! Barney sleeps in the big bed at night and happily jumps up there himself at bedtime. He is still getting used to his foster home and the different things happening in his life. He is getting more confident in his home, but he still needs to gain confidence outside of the home. Barney is learning what a leash is and is working on house breaking. He should have a home with a fenced yard. There are still too many things out there in the big world that he is unsure of. Barney gets along well with the other little dogs in his foster home and loves toys. He has never been away from other dogs and he does have some anxiety when he's left alone so a home with another dog would be best for him. We think kids will scare him and we have no idea how he would be with cats. Barney is hesitant with strangers but he's good once he knows them. He is nice to new people, he just hides and goes to his person for comfort and security at first. It is very good for him to meet new people and make new friends to improve his confidence. Hopefully his new family is willing to work with the sweet boy who hasn't lived a very good life so far! Barney has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, fecal tested, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. His neuter is scheduled at one of our events soon and is covered by the rescue. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted. *To meet a dog or be considered for adoption you must first submit an adoption application for review. This does not obligate you to adopt a dog. *We review multiple applications for each dog and pick the best fit. We are not always able to respond to every application.
