Peggy Sue is in foster in Black Hawk, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/peggy-sue You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/. Our Peggy Sue is one in a million. No, really - wait! Hear us out. Peggy Sue has a cute little-piggy tail, and three paws that make it sound like a herd of kittens are chasing you when she runs up from behind. She loves to chase. She's getting really good at chasing the ball, in fact. Oh wait, what is that you say? You want the ball BACK?! Well, we're still working on that. We're also working on house training (uses a dog door 90% of the time, and a puppy pad when she can't quite make it out), and leash walking which is VERY VERY exciting. Peggy Sue is a smart gal, always quick to teach her foster mom a thing or two. She has already taught her foster mom that she really doesn't like the crate. She much prefers a 4 x 4 indoor dog enclosure when you must leave home without her, thank you very much. Oh, and night-time means BED-time. She can be trusted to snuggle (and kick) you all night long. Peggy Sue is a bit shy when she first meets someone new, but come on'|aren't we all? She warms up pretty quick, once she realizes you also think she is wonderful. And who wouldn't?! Oh, and that one in a million we mentioned at the beginning? She literally is. Peggy Sue is a suspected hermaphrodite. This means that there is a small possibility that testicles may appear as she ages. Our vet looked and looked and didn't find any, but, not to worry - MHCR will cover the neuter if this happens. Peggy Sue was born with a deformity in her front leg and subsequently had it amputated. She had 'fairy bones' in that leg, which means her bones never calcified.
