About Arika 'Ari'

One-year-old intact female Belgian Malinois. Current on rabies, DAP, Bordetella, canine influenza, and Lyme disease vaccines. Gets flea/tick and heartworm prevention on the first of every month. She is microchipped. Gets along well with the other dogs in our home and the dogs in doggy daycare. Unknown how she'd be with dogs outside her normal environment. She hasn't really been around strangers, children, cats, small animals, or livestock so we're not sure how she would react. She goes to daycare six days a week but doesn't like it as much anymore. She has learned to climb to the top of the kennels there and is at risk of hurting herself because of this. My husband and I work long hours and if she didn't go to daycare she'd have to be at home in a crate. She is crate-trained and housebroken. Never left alone unsupervised. Sleeps in her crate and is crated when we have to leave if she isn't in daycare. She loves to play ball and is very food motivated. Knows to sit, down, 'in' (crate), and 'car' (into the car). Needs more work on come (sometimes), stay, off, leave it, jumping up (sometimes), drop it, etc. Could do better on leash training but isn't terrible. No bite work or protection training has been done. We've tried dock diving with her when she was a puppy but she wouldn't go off the ramp. Go figure she'll jump into the water for a random leaf that fell once. Has some interest in Frisbee but we haven't worked on it much. Has mild environmental allergies (gets eye boogies) and takes 25mg of Benedryl for this once a day with her food. Please e-mail or text with any questions you may have for more information.
