About Zoey-fee waived

o help us make a great fit for you, and any of our dogs as well, please include information about yourself(Home, family, yard/fence, work hours, other pets...) and/or use our application at sparrowdogs.com. Those emails will get the quickest response, we do the best we can, but if we have to follow up with an email asking you about yourself and waiting for a response, well, we have already moved on to the next email that has provided the details. We are doing the best we can to find the right home for each dog or cat, just need your help too! :) Every once in awhile an extra special dog will just saunter into our lives, stroll casually into our home, nudge a cat, sniff a dog, give a little tail wag and find a soft spot on the couch. Well, Hello Zoey! She did all of that, maybe not in that order but she made herself at home in quick order in her foster home. How sweet is that, especially considering Zoey's had not had the most prefect of lives. I suppose we all come with out fair share of baggage and grudges. Zoey should have more than her fair share. She lived in what we were told somewhat of a hoarding situation with plenty of bugs that dished out their fair share of nonsense on poor Zoey. She came to a shelter with her skin in not the greatest of conditions, yet, she stayed grateful and accommodating throughout her transition. Even dogs from very rough homes can have a hard time leaving that situation, it is all they have ever known. But, Zoey has taken the high road and is embracing her new life. Embracing...well...that is putting it lightly. She went from city living to life on a farm! She is living the good life with other dogs, cats, goats and chickens! Zoey's incredibly foster family has crossed off some new adventures on her bucket list. Not just the farm life, snuggling on a couch, but a real life road trip! Zoey and her foster pal Manny (the pic from the back seat) went to visit the family of their foster Mom. They stayed for a time by the lake, it was too cold to go on the boat, but no doubt Zoey would have been up for that! Zoey is 8 years old and around 68 pounds, she is a solid girl and pretty spunky. She enjoys her playtime with the other dogs, but will be happy to have some quiet time as well. She is totally housebroken and will let you know when she needs out. Zoey knows sit, lay down, and paw. And of course she is great in the car! She is not a big fan of the crate or perhaps being left alone for long hours. She is food motivated(which is great!) enjoys leisurely walks and a relaxing sunny afternoon in a warm spot. She may like to be the dominant female, she will better in a home with more submissive dogs. She has been around cats, but has barked at them, so perhaps a cat free home will be best. Zoey will be great for a family with some dog experience, we think she will be fine with older kids/teens. Zoey is a lady like dog, very loving and calm. She would love a laid back home.
