Beaufort is a twelve-year-old, sixteen-pound, Beagle and Labrador Retriever mix. Beaufort is good with dogs, good with cats, and good with mature kids ten and over. This super senior is loving! He was dumped at a shelter, frail and underweight (he should be about twenty pounds) and we rescued Beaufort from the shelter and placed him in a foster home. Beaufort is gaining strength and his personality is starting to come out: this boy is a sweetheart. His foster writes: 'Beauford loves attention, he just wants to be around people. He eats well, is not yet housebroken so I have to keep a belly band on him and take him out often, but Beaufort is so sweet that makes up for the extra work.' Beaufort is on arthritis meds for stiff back legs. He has a lot of life in him and would be ideal for a senior household who wants to shower him with attention and love! Beaufort has also been diagnosed with Cushing's Disease, this is managed with medication, a sweet senior needing a kind home! Apply at crisisdogsnc.org. We reply only to completed applications, no calls. Excellent vet references and a virtual home visit required. Your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We prefer a fenced yard, but this is not required for all of our dogs. We transport by land or air whenever possible.
