About Chippy & Fletcher

Poodle
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Chippy and Fletcher came in to rescue together from a breeding facility as surrenders. They decided they were were a larger poodle than what they wanted in their breeding program. When we arrived we were not aware of their size. We were told they were miniatures. However the father (Chippy) is 16 pounds and the son (Fletcher) is 26 pounds. We are absolutely fine with this, but we were not aware that they are as fearful as they are and that Chippy the dad is food protective to his son. It was all around a surprise to us that day as we are always very limited on space and needed to separate them into their own space. Chippy has a birth date of1-29-18 and Fletcher the son has a birth date of 10-27-20. Both boys have the potential to be wonderful pets, but will need lots of love and work to bring them out of their shell. They have lived their life so far in a cage/kennel with nothing. They have not been socialized and will need time and patience. We will not be sending them home together as we feel they will play on each others fear. They will need lots of time spent with them and lots of positive reinforcement with their training. These boys have not been vetted yet as we are letting them settle in and get use to some of the new things here in rescue. They seem to love their new beds, toys and are already taking treats from our hands. If you have any interest in the rehab of either one of these boys and seeing them blossom once in a home please contact us to complete an application to adopt. We will require a physically fenced and secure yard for these boys (no electric fencing). Please be sure to check your spam box for our reply as our emails have been ending up there.
