CRANBERRY BASIC FACTS Breed: Dachshund & Chihuahua Mix Color: Red Age: 12 years (DOB 12/15/2010) Gender: Female, spayed Size: 14 pounds House-trained: 50/50 Crate trained: No Good with Kids: Yes Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Yes Concerns: Heart murmur, toothless BIOGRAPHY Cranberry entered rescue after her owner passed away and remaining family members were unable to take on her or the other dog in the household. Unfortunately, Cranberry had been through several homes prior to that and her medical care was neglected for years. Cranberry is happy to report that she is finally on the mend. She had all of her remaining 14 teeth extracted immediately after entering rescue, as they were quite literally crumbling in her mouth and preventing her from being able to eat comfortably. She was also diagnosed with a grade III-IV heart murmur. She is not on any medications at this time and may need further cardiac workup in the future. Cranberry is fostered in a home with 3 young children and is absolutely wonderful with them. She is struggling with house-training and will need to be let out regularly. She loves to go on walks, walks well on a leash, and still has quite a bit of pep in her step! An ideal home for Cranberry would be a retired family that is home often to spend time with her. Cranberry is ready to retire too and spend her days snuggling with her human(s). Cranberry is located in Columbus, OH and is available for an adoption fee of $200.00, or is eligible for the seniors adopting seniors program, in which her fee would be discounted to $100.00 for adopters over the age of 65. Cranberry is spayed, microchipped, HW negative, and appropriately vaccinated.
