About KJ

KJ or Big Head or Pup�'�| 14 mo and is an owner surrender from NC (former owners called him Cujo which doesn't fit him at all). He is a purebred with his tail and dew claws. He is learning manners on the leash and with my human body parts. He loves all toys , big sticks, plays fetch and returns. Although we are learning to 'leave it' in order to be thrown again. He LOVEs tug of war. Demands his hooman plays or else he will physically put his mouth on your hand and lightly show you he wants to play. We are working on that. He is a leaner , a go between your legs, jump on your stomach on the couch, grab your sweatshirt sleeve if you don't want to play tug�'�|.I would not feel comfortable with him and the little kids - older kids yes. He loves hooman attention and always demands you pay attention to him. He goes into crate easily and has only marked a few spots when he first arrived. Likes going outside in yard and our walks are pretty good. He is learning not to pull me to sniff and mark his spot. Knows heel command, sit when we stop for traffic. Lots of repetition. He does pull when he sees movement- like kids riding bikes, joggers but not in a bad way, more like 'let me go investigate kind of way'. He loves all things peanut butter, squeak or crunchy sounding toys. He does not care if a dog comes near him while eating or competing for treats (yay). Will bring you toy and want you to pull on it. Really a pretty laid back demeanor , but will amp up when the male dogs does. Respectful of the other females want to play or not to play, of his zest for initiating some minor 'air humping' affection. Shows interest in our cat but feel that he can be redirected. He stays in the gated area of house and in our backyard with shorter vinyl fencing and does not seem interested in leaving the yard. He has been very good with all female dogs in my house - big, small, old and young all with different personalities. Vaccinated, hw negative, pending neuter. Fostered in Virginia Beach area. ** ADOPTION DETAILS: Most RHR available dogs live in foster homes. Each dog is spayed, neutered, (unless medically on hold) up to date on shots, dewormed, and microchipped. At this time, due to the size of our rescue, adoptions are limited to NORTH CAROLINA, SOUTH CAROLINA, VIRGINIA and +/-6 hours from Raleigh, NC. ADOPTION FEE: Our total adoption fee is $400, including a non-refundable $25 application fee.
