About Ruby

CHOW SAVVY, RESPONSIBLE NEW HOME OR FOSTER NEEDED FOR SWEET RUBY IN N CAL- Please help us find a good, loving, chow savvy home (or local foster and rescue) for beautiful Ruby whose owner is no longer able to care for her due to owner's medical condition. Ruby is currently staying with a relative in Santa Rosa (Sonoma County) who cannot hold her much longer due to living situation, and reached out to us for help. We were told she is very sweet with people, and is said to be only 3 years old, approximately 45 lbs, and AKC. We have video with people we can share where she enjoys playing and being pet. Ruby has not been around younger children though, and may or may not be suitable. The relative who contacted us also has her sister from the same litter, but Ruby unfortunately does not get along with her sibling. After trying a dog test with a male, the person who assessed said she is a very nice dog, but she is best as an only dog. And is probably not safe with cats. We are still waiting on vet records, but we are told they are not aware of any health or other behavior issues with Ruby. Please note the new home will need to provide current vaccinations if these are not up to date, and also spay surgery will be mandatory. All adopters will be asked for a home check (which may be virtual) and must provide a vet reference and past chow experience. Proof of spay will also be required for adopters, but if fostering, a rescue will assist with this. We are looking for serious adopters or foster homes only who have chow experience. No apartment renters please due to breed restrictions.
