Roxie is 2-year-old female Shepperd mix we adopted her from a shelter last May. She was terrified at the shelter. The only thing they could tell me is a lady dropped her off and said she found her. They doubted that was the truth. She took a week to adjust to not being afraid of us. She plays well with our other dog who is about the same age and size. There are no small children in my home. We have tried to rehabilitate her by giving her all the love and time she needs. She is still terrified of other people especially males. She will bark at them and pace the house. Pretty sure she has some sort of PTSD. She has never acted aggressive toward anyone. We are pretty sure she has been abused. She is not very trusting of most understandably. Very anxious. She listens well Knows sit. Comes when called. Not good on leash. Hard to take her for walk because she is so afraid. Loves all food and her stuffed friends. Plays well with our other dog. We like this dog and it breaks our heart. This morning she bit my husband he was giving her a face scratch and a kiss has he has did many times. She needs someone who can help her get what she needs. I dont seem able to reach her. Hoping to find someone who has experience with a dog like her. We do not want anything to happen to her.
