Poncho is available for adoption again! Poncho was initially found by the shelter as a three-month-old puppy who had been abandoned in the country all alone to fend for himself. He was adopted from the shelter in November but has now been returned. Poncho deserves a forever home, and to never see this shelter again. Poncho is a very handsome fella who could win over just about any family. His misfortune has simply been due to him being an energetic dog who wants to play. His forever family really needs to be active, with a nice large yard for him to play in when he has zoomies that he needs to break out. Most if not all puppies share these things in common with Poncho; there is nothing wrong with him. He just needs a family that is used to having an energetic dog until he grows out of the puppy phase shortly after turning one. Poncho loves toys, treats and long walks. He would thrive in a home with other dogs that he can play with. He is quite silly and very entertaining to watch. We don't recommend him with young children due to him being so playful, but older children should be fine. Any active family would be the perfect fit for Poncho! Poncho is a seven-month-old Labrador retriever mix puppy. He currently weighs about 40 pounds and doesn't seem to have much more room to grow. He has been vaccinated, dewormed and tested for heartworm disease and all tick-borne illnesses at the shelter. Located at the Brownsville Haywood County Animal Shelter in Brownsville, Tennessee. The adoption fee is $60 with a $60 vet fee to be paid on the day of spay/neuter at Bells Animal Clinic. Alternatively, adopters can have spay/neuter completed at their vet, at their vet's cost. Spay/neuter is required within 30 days of adoption. We have no pull fee and can help arrange transport for local 501c3 rescue groups.
