Meet Dorothy Zbornak. Dorothy, like so many others, has had a very hard start to life, and we only hope to let her forget her past, and give her a very bright future. Dorothy came to us via a rescuer who took her in from the street/backyard breeder. She had been living in an outdoor enclosure in the Tucson heat, and had never been to a veterinarian to indicate a major heart defect, that would have been detected upon a first visit - Pulmonic Stenosis. Dorothy's stenosis is congenital. Essentially, her valve does not open correctly, due to a dome shaped valve with a hole in the middle. Dorothy had heart surgery and will be able to live a long, happy life! Dorothy is shy at first, but she is sweet as pie. If given the chance, she blossoms into such a bouncy, happy pup. She just needs someone who is patient and understanding. She loves playing with her foster sibs, and would even love respectful kids. She likes tortoises but cats are unknown.
