Cody is 1 year old retriever mix (likely with border collie or aussie) who came to us with an emergency bowel obstruction. After several hours of surgery, his life was saved just in the nick of time, as his bowel was about to burst! Since then, Cody has recovered beautifully! This is a big boy who is full of puppy energy. In his foster home, Cody lives with other dogs, cats and children and does very well with all! Because of his energy, we are recommending a home without very small dogs or small children (under 10), as Cody is higher in energy and may unintentionally knock someone over. He is young and likes to be active, so an active home with other dogs and/or dog educated teens would be fabulous! Cody would undoubedly love to be a hiking buddy for anyone looking! Though our fosters are working on crate training and basic obedience, it is a MUST that training continues for Cody in his forever home. Also, it is critical that Cody is watched for ingesting anything odd, as he is pure puppy still and likes to chew anything he can if no one is looking (last time it was a towel). To meet Cliff, please FIRST apply on our website for approval: https://www.theroadhomeanimalproject.org/companion-adoption-form-pdf.html Cody's adoption fee is $400, which includes his obstruction surgery, dewormings, spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines (which include DHLPPC, Lyme, Bordetella & Rabies) and microchip with lifetime registration. *Note: please DO NOT apply if you are unsure about adopting a new pup. Yes, they are adorable and fun, but they also require a lot of work and full commitment by ALL family members. Thank you!
