Arf! Arf, everyone! My name is Amber, and I'm a sweet and adorable Akita mix gal with a very soft, fluffy fawn-colored coat and white tuxedo markings who was born in December 2022. At 2 1/2 months old, I weighed 10 pounds and could weigh up to 70 pounds when I'm full grown. A Good Samaritan found me at a park as an abandoned orphan but thankfully turned to Miss Donna to find me a wonderful forever home. I'm still a happy, silly, precious pup who loves humans of all ages -- including kids -- and other dogs and cats. I'd love to tell you what you might expect me to be like when I grow up. Akitas are renowned for thriving on human companionship and gladly sharing our silly, affectionate side with family and friends. We're quiet, fastidious, loyal, and devoted dogs. We're sensitive to kindness as well as unusually tolerant and patient with children. That said, we're hardwired for protecting those we love. A fenced yard is a must with Akitas, and we should always be kept under control and not allowed to roam freely. My foster family is socializing me well as a small pup, which should minimize the potential for wariness of and aloofness with strangers as well as intolerance of other dogs that some Akitas manifest. In our native land of Japan, we Akitas are considered symbols of good health, happiness, and long life. Now who couldn't use those blessings in your home? I hope my tipped-over ears and sweet, alert expression (a hallmark of Akitas) have attracted your attention. Arrange to meet me right away because I probably won't be available long. When I greet you, I promise to shower you with lots of mushy puppy kisses. Amber will get her second round of puppy shots prior to adoption. She has been dewormed and microchipped. Adopter must sign a contract to bring her back to Miss Donna in July for her to be spayed at 7 months old. Her adoption fee is $300 for puppies 9 months and younger. An application must be filled out prior to adoption.
